Selenium and Vitamin C

We are into making nutritional supplements wherein we add vitamin and mineral premix to the product.

A medical student came back to us saying that, in presence of Vitamin C, Selenium gets reduced to its elemental form thereby being unavailable.

Is it true? Can anyone give me proper references for the statement.

If it is so, how else can we incorporate selenium?
