Dear mautin, thank you so much. I really appreciate

Hi,

How does food packaging contribute to the socio-economic status of our nation?

Dear tamanna,
With the large population of human beings living on the planet earth, unless one is completely devious from modern civilization and trend, one is constantly thrilled by packaging in one way or the other.
The contributions of food packaging to socio economic hub of nations cannot be over emphasised. With food pacakging, GDP of nations significantly increase in value. This is because products are required to be shipped from source to manufacturer, to retailer and then to consumers through supply chain.
Packaging which must be developed from specific materials into specific shapes, scientifically designed to suit the product being packaged such that the hazard of transit journey is reduced, maximizing the shelf life of products and to positively influence the consumer's purchase decision hence, resulting in a contribution to GDP of nations.
As an example in 2012, the total value of South Africa's packaging industry was around R43-billion. Packaging GDP was just 1.5% of South Africa's total GDP of R2.86 trillion, almost all of the consumers/industrial goods GDP and much of service industry GDP relied heavily on packaging for realization. Due to its contributions, It is a vital aspect of food technology which calls for a great attention.
Thank you.

Thank you

Thanks so much ma"am
